COMMERCIAL CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN

Location: Based out of Ord, Nebraska, involves travel across the state

Type: Full-Time (40-50 hours/week)
Salary: Highly Competitive, based on experience
 

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Foreman to lead daily construction site operations on commercial building projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading a carpenter team, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and meet quality and safety standards. Solid building construction knowledge and application and influential communication and skills are essential. You will act as the main point of contact between the crew and project management, ensuring efficient workflow and clear communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and drawings to ensure accurate project execution.

  • Lead and mentor a team of laborers in construction tasks ensuring compliance with construction plans.

  • Monitor project progress and report updates to the Project Manager, addressing any delays or issues promptly.

  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and industry regulations.

  • Oversee the use and maintenance of equipment, materials, and tools.

  • Ensure timely communication with the project management team.

  • Manage inventory and resources to minimize waste and downtime.

  • Address and resolve conflicts or challenges on-site, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately

  • Comprehensive building construction knowledge and experience

  • OSHA 30 certification preferred for maintaining a safe work environment

  • Influential leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to delegate, map, and time chunk tasks/projects effectively

  • Possess the ability to foresee potential issues and troubleshoot effectively to avoid project delays.

  • Ability to travel at times working four days away/three days off

  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical labor as required.

  • Proficiency in utilizing ProCore

CARPENTER

Are you a master craftsman or on the path to becoming one?  Hackel Construction is looking for you to join our team! This position requires the knowledge, application, and execution of interior and exterior finishing skills. Pay is competitive based on mastery, and there is an opportunity to advance within the company. This position requires 40-50 hours a week, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will concentrate on four key areas:

  1. The ability to frame and install roofing, siding, soffit, and fascia

  2. The ability to install interior finishes, cabinets, and trim

  3. The ability to maintain a safe, organized job site

  4. The ability to positively communicate with customers and the construction team

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following qualities:

  • A growth mindset that continues education in technical and leadership skills

  • The ability to self-govern and successfully complete projects

  • Be detail-oriented, organized, and systematic

  • Actively listen and clearly communicate information

  • Be a team player who works well with others to accomplish daily goals

  • Possess excellent framing and finishing skills

  • Understand and utilize relevant technology in daily operations

  • Possesses a minimum of five years of experience in interior/exterior finishing and/or an Associate degree in Construction

3 :

SUPERINTENDENT

Do you love leading a team and building solutions that serve others? Hackel Construction is seeking a highly motivated, self-governing team member who will thrive in the role of site superintendent. 

 

This position requires a thorough knowledge of construction processes and offers the opportunity to travel during the week as well as the opportunity to advance in the company. Pay is competitive ranging from $75-100K annually, based on skill and experience. The position requires 40-50 hours a week, Monday- Friday from 7 a.m. to 5-6 p.m., and concentrates on three roles:

  1. Plan, organize and direct the leadership and scheduling of project materials and installation.

  2. Influence and motivate all members of the building process to achieve project goals.

  3. Professionally communicate construction progress with project owners, suppliers, and subcontractors.

 

The ideal candidate will have the following qualities:

  • Understand the building process from start to finish.

  • Schedule daily tasks and materials needed on the job site.

  • Be detail-oriented, organized, and systematic.

  • Possess influential communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Provide vision, direction, and communication for all individuals involved in the project.

  • Actively pursue learning and seek self-improvement personally and professionally.

  • Utilize smartphone apps and computer programs for specific job applications and project logging.
